He was born on July 30, 1947, son of Gustav Schwarzenegger, head of the Austrian police and Aurelia, in Thal, Austria. He had a brother Meinhard and his father was unfair to Arnold and gave preferential treatment to his brother.

He was active in sports like football and, while preparing for football, he developed an interest in bodybuilding. In the 60s he won some weight lifting and weight lifting competitions.

In 1979, he starred in the film "The Villain", and the following year, he appeared in the biopic "The Jayne Mansfield Story" as husband of actress Jayne Mansfield, Mickey Hargitay.


In 1980 he again took part in the Mr. Olympia competition and won too. In the end, he officially retired from professional bodybuilding.

In 1982 he got his first big hit when his film "Conan the Barbarian" was released. Then he worked on the sequel to this film called "Conan the Destroyer".

He also played a comic role in the 1988 film "Twins". This was followed by his film 'Total Recall', which was a great commercial success.

During the period 1990-93, he presided over the "Presidential Council on Physical Fitness and Sport" and was then president of the "California Governor's Council for Physical Fitness and Sport". He was also the ambassador of the "Red Cross", which is an international humanitarian movement.

In 1991, this actor was the protagonist of "Terminator 2: Judgment Day", which was a great success and became the biggest commercial success of that year.

In 2011, after completing his second term as Governor of California, he decided to return to Hollywood. The same year, he founded the NGO called "R20 Regions of Climate Action".

During the period 2012-14, he worked on many films such as "The Expendables 2", "The Last Stand", "Escape Plan", "Sabotage", "The Expendables 3".


In 2012 his autobiography "Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story" was published.
His next films are the sequel to "The Legend of Conan" and "Terminator Genisys", the fifth film in the series.

His role in "The Terminator" in which he played the lead role was acclaimed and starred in his sequels "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" and "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines" and both sequels turned out to be great success.

Awards and results

In 1977 he won his first "Golden Globe Award" for the film "Stay Hungry" as "New Evil Star of the Year".
In 1993, he received the title of "International Star of the Decade" from the "National Association of Theater Owners".

This talented actor has been included in the "Hollywood Walk of Fame" and in the "WWE Hall of Fame"
